Deborah, one of our members, has just returned home from her first weekend away in Nottingham on the GIFT course run by the Congregational Federation.

GIFT stands for Growing In Faith Together and is a one year course designed to ‘deepen experience and understanding of faith’. The course is delivered mainly by distance learning, but there are 3 weekends at the Congregational Federation’s national offices, which conveniently for us are in Nottingham.

Deborah will be the third person from Newark to have undertaken this training – your blogger can vouch for what a good course it is.

She had the bonus of seeing someone familiar in the lift at her hotel.  A certain Sir Cliff Richard was on a tour and playing Nottingham on Friday evening and happened to be staying in the same hotel.
