At our monthly Café Church last weekend we looked at what we could learn about our faith from the book and film ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’

What a strange thing to find in the middle of a Forest – a lamppost.
It just doesn’t happen does it? The middle of a forest is very dark indeed isn’t it? And in the middle of a winter’s night how easy it would be to step of the path, to lose your way, and to stumble around in the darkness.
But however dark the wood that you are in there is always light to cheer you, to guide you and show you the way.
Each year, as Advent leads to Christmas we remember the coming of that light.
Read these beautiful words of hope from the beginning of John’s Gospel
In the beginning the Word already existed; the Word was with God, and the Word was God. From the very beginning the Word was with God. Through him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without him. The Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out.
