At our café service on Sunday we looked at a charity that promotes helping those in some of the poorest countries in the world to help themselves.

It works by people loaning, not giving, money to help individuals establish their own businesses. Once the business is successful the loan is repaid and you can take the money back or re-invest in in another project. The excellent animated video below, narrated by Joanna Lumley, explains (in only 2 minutes) how it works. The church will be making a decision on supporting this at our church meeting soon. To me it looks like a very good idea.
