Newark Congregational Church

We were delighted to welcome Lincolnshire folk duo Winter Wilson to perform in our church yesterday.

In a concert organised (and sponsored) by Françoise Evans, one of our Just Sing! community choir, around 80 people attended a free, socially-distanced event.

Instead of paying for entry the audience were invited to donate to the band’s charities – Sleaford Community Larder (a foodbank) and the Musicians Union Musicians’ Hardship Fund. Over £310 was raised. Naturally the church did not charge for the use of our premises for staging this charity event.

We hope the band will return when restrictions are lifted so we can have a full house to hear these very talented performers next time.
